About Jacksonville
Troy University is a public, regionally accredited institution comprised of a network of campuses throughout Alabama and worldwide. Well known for its long and proud history of serving our nation’s armed forces, Troy University established its initial entrant in the Jacksonville area at Camp Blanding, Florida in 1988. Troy offered the Master of Science degree in Management followed with the Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Resources Management and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration/Management in 1989.
Troy University’s Jacksonville site, a metropolitan campus, was established in 2004 to primarily serve the needs of the non-traditional, adult learners in the Jacksonville market area. Troy University’s Jacksonville site is a part of the university’s network of more than 60 sites in 17 U.S. states and 11 nations. The campus is located at 2683 St. John’s Bluff Road South, Suite 123, Jacksonville, Florida. Onsite degree programs include the Masters of Science in Management (MSM), Masters of Public Administration (MPA), Master of Science in Human Resource Management (MSHRM) and the latest offering, the Master of Science in Counseling and Psychology (MSCP). Additional undergraduate and graduate programs are available online. All degree programs meet and are included in the accreditation status of Troy University, Troy Alabama, as well as, the requirements set by the Florida State Commission on Independent Education.
Troy University’s tradition of teaching excellence dates to its founding on February 26, 1887, when an act of the Alabama Legislature established Troy State Normal School as an institution to train teachers for Alabama’s schools. On Dec. 14, 1967, the name of the college was officially changed to Troy State University. In April of 2004, the Board of Trustees voted to drop "State" from the University's name to better reflect the institution's worldwide mission. Today, the college serves nearly 26,000 students worldwide.
